Sparrow Hawk Village, established in 1981 by Rev. Carol
E. Parrish-Harra, her husband Charles, and several students and
colleagues, consists of about 50 homes dotting the hilltop and valley
among office buildings, classrooms, a metaphysical library, a wellness
center, a bookstore, a gift shop, and Light of Christ Community
Church.
We delight in sharing our setting and our ideas. The seminary
is open to those who may be seeking personal growth or a variety
of certifications. We also offer master and doctoral degrees and
preparation for endorsed ordination.
This intentional spiritual community is nestled among 440 acres
of gently rolling Ozark forest filled with abundant wildlife and
natural, serene beauty. A central water system supplied from deep
wells, clean air, organic community gardens, orchards, horse pastures,
hiking trails, springs, a waterfall, and over a mile of river frontage,
bordered by 700 acres of primitive state forest, significantly add
to the villagers' quality of life.
Sparrow Hawk Village is open to members of all faiths. While
many villagers are esoteric Christian, we are blessed with members
of various Western arid Eastern practices, which create a diverse
spiritual experience. Our residents are involved in the healing
arts, music, counseling, dowsing, aura photography, teaching, meditating,
spiritual dance, and esoteric studies. This is a place of growth.
Energy vortexes here accelerate personal and interpersonal evolution.
Many of our residents are creatively self-employed, While
others have jobs in the nearby town where there are ever-increasing
employment opportunities. Some work as nurses, teachers, healers
and artisans. Village life is enriched by a constant steam of international
guests and students who participate in classes and workshops offered
by accredited programs of Sancta Sophia Seminary. |

The
campus includes a beautiful church, esoteric library, bookstore,
gift shop, Wellness Center and administrative offices. Daily
meditations, Sunday services and other spiritually oriented gatherings
are available at the church and in village homes. Many villagers
participate in a weekly community meditation for world peace and
growth of communities world wide who hold peace in their hearts.
We invite you to visit, study, or live in Sparrow Hawk Village.
If you are interested in visiting, guest rooms and a campground
are available for a nominal fee. Reservations are recommended. For
those interested in living here, there are homes and home sites
for sale and few rentals. Our community
center serves as a hub for activities and programs for
all ages created to enhance the values of unity, love, peace, and
community building. |
The Sparrow Hawk Village Home Owners Association
serves as the village government
and place for group guidelines.
Meeting every three months for business, it also
has the power to call special meetings. The Association is democratic
with a one-vote one-lot process as is more or less common among
land developments. Each family owns or rents their own space and
assumes a role in the collective village purpose.
Our Motto: An intentional spiritual Community
with an educational focus.

A campus for Sancta Sophia Seminary
A retreat for many
A destination for spiritual seekers
A practice in spiritual life styling
A home for those in transition |
The Home Owners Association adopted the following affirmation
some years ago to keep itself mindful of our reasons for having
come together.
Affirmation of Diversity
There is strength in all of us, or we would not
have been chosen.
There is weakness in all of us which evokes our brother's strength.
There is Love in all of us, which needs expression.
There is Light in all of us, And with this light we serve.
I blend my Light with yours, And thus increase our service.
I blend my Love with yours, and thus evolve the Plan.
We blend ourselves together, and thus we stand. Amen
There seems to be a strong correlation to the guidelines
given for the creation and perpetuation of the Village and the
seven rays of distribution. Received in 1982 by Carol Parrish.
Democracy is self-government.
Universal acceptance creates peace.
Understanding one another we each evolve.
Communication and cooperation create community.
Science is to serve life.
Humanity in love with life serves its creator.
Beauty begets ethical living; ethical living begets beauty. |

The international headquarters of Light of Christ
Community Church and Sancta Sophia Seminary are located here.
The campus includes a beautiful church, library, bookstore, gift
shop, wellness center, and offices. In addition to providing a
full class schedule, the church and seminary sponsor well-known
speakers and diverse workshops. Consequently, many students, guests
and visitors are welcomed into our homes as they come to participate
in these activities. Daily meditations and Sunday services are
available in the LCCC sanctuary and in village homes.

An association of property owners was initiated by the founders
and is democratic in style. It deals with issues of property values
and ownership issues, and was the first attempt to form a community
government.
The Community Association of Sparrow Hawk was created in 1994 and
is available to all for community activities. $10 /year per person
membership fees. Other residents are accepted by fulfilling certain
requirements. The association functions through a modified consensus
format.
Located at the end of a country road four miles off Oklahoma State
Highway 10, Sparrow Hawk Village is approximately ten miles from
Tahlequah, OK, capital of the Cherokee Nation, and location of Northeastern
State University. We invite you to visit, study, or live in the
