As
I introduce Sparrow Hawk Village —ponder
the many roles it plays in the lives of those it serves. For some
it is a spiritual retreat place—a quiet setting for inner repair
and restoration—for some it is a home. As an intentional spiritual
community about one hundred persons live here dedicated to the
quest for higher consciousness, each one willing to meet the experiences
of life from the highest perspective they can muster day by day.
Community members pledge support and encouragement as each is
challenged.
 Often persons come to spend a time at the village when
life gets too hectic for a healthy and comfortable lifestyle.
This may be for a few days, a month or differing lengths of time.
Sometimes after a death or divorce one is ready to explore the
inner healing process. Our Wellness Center is prepared to offer
such assistance.
Sparrow
Hawk Village is also the campus for the metaphysical-esoteric
seminary-of choice, Sancta Sophia. Students live or travel here for the courses and classes needed
to equip them for a vocation in the field of spirituality. This
can be as a Wellness Guide, a lay ministry in healing or counseling,
ordained ministry, teacher of Esoteric Philosophy, or formal degrees:
Masters of Divinity or Theology, Doctor of Divinity or Theology,
or Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Studies.
 At the heart of the action is Light of
Christ Community Church, the parent of the village and seminary.
LCCC serves to create, certify and supervise a network of prepared
workers that find their ministries personal or formal, through
out the country and beyond. Affiliated with the International
Council of Community Churches, our ministries are contemporary,
ecumenical, and interfaith. it is most interesting to note how
many individuals from other traditions or countries find their
way to the mountaintop for both educational and inspirational
purposes.
What truly happens
at the village is transformation, preparation, and students acquire tools they can use as
they become leaders of the new emerging consciousness. Today many
are eager to become World Servers striving to fulfill a vision
of how it could be. We do believe that the Self within, called
by any name, carries our reason for incarnation. Our work is to
facilitate the birth of the Inner Knower and assist in the preparation
of mystical, metaphysical, and esoteric professionals for their
chosen fields.
A unique type program—part on campus, part home study—plus
an assigned personal mentor-student relationship based upon the
traditional guru-disciple model has proven itself most effective.
Sancta Sophia began in 1978, accredited by the Accrediting Commission
International, the world's largest nongovernmental accreditation
society especially to serve religious institutions, Bible Colleges
and seminaries.
